SpecGliFed

Projection installation · corner-mapped, spectrally driven · 2021

Two walls of a corner are treated as a single continuous surface. Sound is analysed spectrally and the resulting data drives glitch and feedback processes in the image, so that the projection is not accompanied by the audio but generated from its internal structure — the same signal, read twice.

The corner matters. Working across an architectural fold rather than a flat screen forces the image to bend with the room, and a visitor standing in it is inside the work rather than in front of it.
