Bali Soundscape

A four-part field-recording album built from recordings made in Desa Kutri, a village in Bali, tracing a temple ceremony from arrival through to a closing gamelan procession: "Welcome to Desa Kutri," "Sacrifice," "Ceremonial Chanting," and "Entering the Temple (Gamelan Parade)."

"Welcome to Desa Kutri" was later republished in 2017 as track 5 of RE-COR (Earwitness, Spain), a twelve-track international phonography compilation exploring human interaction through field recording, curated by Juan Manuel Castrillo. The inclusion places this early work inside a wider international field-recording context, and marks the beginning of a practice — using recorded place as compositional material rather than documentation — that continues through Angkot Is the Melting Pot and Hutan Plastik.
