Sabetan is the puppeteer's technique of movement in wayang kulit — a vocabulary refined over centuries for making a flat leather figure appear to breathe. Here that vocabulary is captured through a depth camera, analysed frame by frame into motion data, and used to drive polymorphic synthesis and real-time image.
The interface disappears into a much older one. What performs is not a new instrument but a very old set of hands.
