Parallax Dog
Video mapping work · SUMONAR Festival, Yogyakarta · 2021
A video mapping work exploring the parallax technique to build a three-dimensional optical illusion out of a flat surface. A moving dog model functions as a Z-axis reference point, giving the audience a depth cue to read into what is, physically, a building facade. Designed to project directly onto architecture — the building's own surface becomes the canvas the illusion is built from — with audio-reactive processes driving the visual changes in real time from the accompanying music.
Presented in the video mapping programme at SUMONAR 2021, the Yogyakarta electronic music and digital arts festival — the same edition of the festival that presented SpecGliFed.
